This is a popular safari to one of the remotest regions of Himachal Pradesh –
Kinnaur & Spiti valleys. Visit remote valleys, villages and cross over high
mountain passes with spectacular views of snow capped peaks, rugged terrain
and old monasteries.

Day 01: Arrive in Shimla.
Day 02: Shimla
Visit the Indian Institute of Advanced Studies, Sankat Mochan Temple and Jakho
Temple in the morning. In the afternoon, take a stroll, shop and relax on The Mall
& The Ridge.
Day 03: Shimla – Sarahan (175 km)
Duration: 4 hours
Travel to Sarahan visiting Rampur en route. On arrival, check in to the hotel.
Day 04: Sarahan – Sangla (92 km)
Duration: 3 hours
Day 05: Sangla
Explore the remote Sangla valley and the nearby villages like Chitkul etc.
Day 06: Sangla – Nako (135 km)
Duration: 5 hours
Proceed to Nako. Visit the confluence of Satluj and Spiti rivers at Khab en route.
Nako is a beautiful village on the banks of a lake. On arrival, set up camp.
Day 07: Nako – Tabo (69 km)
Duration: 2 hours

Travel to Tabo and visit the Tabo monastery is more than a thousand years old
and is famous for its wall paintings and murals. It is also known as the Ajanta of
the Himalayas. Then set up camp near Tabo village.
Day 08: Tabo – Dhankar – Lalung – Kaza (81 km)
Duration: 4 hours
Visit the Dhankar and Lalung monasteries and proceed to Kaza and set up camp.
Day 09: Kaza
Visit the Ki monastery and Kibber village. In the afternoon, travel to Tashigong
village to see the Chao Chao Kang Nilda peak.
Day 10: Kaza – Chandertal (116km)
Duration: 5 hours
Spend the afternoon exploring the lake.
Day 11: Chandertal – Manali (110 km)
Duration: 7 hours
Travel to Manali over and Rohtang (3980m) Pass. The drive provides you with
some spectacular views of the rugged Spiti valley, CB ranges and Barashigri
Glacier.

Day 01: Arrive in Manali.
Day 02: Manali – Chatru (65m)
Duration: 6 hours
Drive over Rohtang Pass into Lahaul valley. The road branches towards
Chandertal and Spiti at Gramphoo. The campsite at Chatru is on the banks of the
river Chandra. Spend the afternoon acclimatizing.
Day 03: Chatru – Kaza (130 km)
Duration: 6 hours
Travel to Kaza over Kunzam la (4558m). On arrival, set up camp.
Day 04: Kaza
Visit the Ki monastery and Kibber village. In the afternoon, travel to Tashigong
village to see the Chao Chao Kang Nilda peak.
Day 05: Kaza – Dhankar – Tabo – Ki – Kaza
Duration: 4 hours
Visit the Dhankar and Tabo monasteries. Tabo monastery is more than a
thousand years old and is famous for its wall paintings and murals. It is also
known as the Ajanta of the Himalayas. Return back to Kaza in the evening.
Day 06: Kaza – Chandertal (116km)
Duration: 5 hours

Spend the afternoon exploring the lake. Overnight at Chandertal
Day 07: Chandertal – Keylong (100 km)
Duration: 4 hours
Travel to Keylong, en route passing several villages in the Lahaul valley. On
arrival, set up camp near Keylong. In the afternoon, hike up to the Khardong
village and monastery.
Day 08: Keylong – Udaipur (50 km)
Duration: 4 hours
Udaipur is located in the Pattan valley, a beautiful side valley in Lahaul. On arrival,
set up camp. In the afternoon, explore the Udaipur village and visit Mrikula Devi
temple.
Day 09: Udaipur – Manali (151 km)
Duration: 7 hours
Return to Manali over Rohtang Pass (3980m). On arrival, check in to the hotel.

REGION COVERED: Tso Kar, Tso Moriri, Karzok, Leh, Pangong, Khardungla
SEASON: July to September
MAX. ALTITUDE: 5606m
NUMBER OF DAYS: 8 days
Day 01: Leh
Duration: 8 hours
Arrive in Leh and check into hotel. Later visit Thiksey, Shey and Hemis
monasteries.
Day 02: Leh – Tso Kar – Tso Moriri
Duration: 10 hours
Start early for Tso Kar. On the way, you will pass Tanglangla, the second highest
motorable pass in the world and part of the Changthang plateau called More
Plains. After spending some time at Tso Kar, head to Korzok which is on the
banks of Tso Moriri. Stay the night at Korzok.
Day 03: Rest day at Tso Moriri
Explore the lake and surrounding areas. Look out for high altitude wildlife such as
Kyang (the tibetan wild ass), bar-headed geese, snow fox etc.
Day 04: Tso Moriri – Pangong
Duration: 8 hours
Trace the route back to Leh till Upshi from where a diversion takes you over
Changla pass to the huge Pangong lake, 2/3 of which lies in Tibet. Overnight stay
at Spangmik on the banks of the lake.

Day 05: Rest day at Pangong
Explore the lake and surrounding areas.
Day 06: Pangong – Leh
Duration: 4 hours
Return to Leh. You can explore the Leh for the rest of the day.
Day 07: Leh – Khardungla – Leh
Duration: 6 hours
Drive upto Khardungla (5606m), world’s highest motorable pass which is also the
gateway to Nubra valley and Siachen.
Day 08: Depart from Leh
